Railroad Depot in 1854

This scene was a familiar view of the old terminal station. I remember
standing on an overpass near Rich's Department store on the 1940s and
looking down at those same tracks, cris-crossing every which way. Of
course the building to the left of the station had long since been
torn down to construct the overpass. The inside of terminal station
was magical, with it's shiny brass rails and very high ceilings. The
elegant past gone.
