23 Garnett Street in 1898

23 Garnett Street in Atlanta. In May of 1898 this home was remodelled. It was owned by Messrs. M. T. and J. H. LaHatte and Mrs. C. P. Bedfield. A new front addition and rear wing was added to the Queen Anne style house. A new staircase, bedrooms and new water closets were added.

Among the contractors were Mr. Foote, C. A. Kramer, A. Robinson, C. C. Rogers and M. M. Mauck.

Garnett Street today is located near Turner Field, the new baseball stadium. For many years, the homes in this district were in slums.
