A sketch of the new Rich's Department Store on Alabama Street published in the Atlanta Journal ca 1920. Atlanta entrepreneur, Richard Rich was the owner of this glamorous structure with high ceilings and four flights. Long crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings and the floors were made of marble. As Atlanta spread out across the various expressways during the 1950s, outlet stores were constructed called "Richway". Richway survived until the 1980s.
