West End

During the 1930s and 40s the Hammonds house in West End once belonged to a prominent Atlanta physician. The old historic homes in the West End community near Atlanta are mostly bungalows, stick style, folk victorian and queen anne.  The community grew from an early period of the 20th century to a residential and soon became a thriving community of small businesses. Indeed, by 1930 West End represented the "American Dream", a community where mom and pop businesses were the center of economic activity.
