Uodate on Georgia Archives and Budget Cuts

The Georgia State Archives continues to be open only 2 days a week. We are going into the second year of this. Budget cuts. Unlike the US Government, Georgia is required to balance its budget, hence layoffs. It is reasonable to assume that this will continue into the next year and beyond. They are open on Fridays and Saturdays, and if a holiday follows, it is closed.  This equates to being open about 6 days per month.  Be prepared for crowded parking, and to be bumped off your reader after one hour. Luckily, I have spent many years digitizing wills and estates. So now you have the option of finding it on www.georgiapioneers.com
Most of the 156 counties are included. To see what is available, click on What'sWhat.
