Standing Peach Tree

Site of Creek Indian Village, Standing Peachtree

The Creek Indian Village of Standing Peachtree was located on the Chattahoochee Rivere near the mouth of Peachtree Creek. It was an imporant center of travel and traffic among the Indians before they ceded the land. The village was there beofre 1813 and was named after an outstanding peach tree or a peach orchard planted on the site years before by Indians.
